Here’s what Pam and Gabe had to say about our team after the event (via their Google reviews):

Six Hearts Photography:

“There were so many photographers in the Atlanta area when we were planning our wedding. This was one of our more stressful decisions, especially when you realize these photos will be one of the few things you have to remember your wedding. We received quotes from various photographers, but after meeting with Schellie, it was a no-brainer. She was easy to talk to, and honestly, she was the most reasonably priced photographer we spoke with. A lot of the other photographers don’t even give you all the pictures that they take and charge you extra if you want them. They also may not cover your whole wedding day unless you pay more for extra hours. This just didn’t make sense to us.

On the other hand, Six Hearts gives you what you pay for. They gave us a ton of pictures (edited and all)! We got a package that covered our engagement shoot with Schellie, and on the wedding day, we got work with Schellie and William for basically the entire day. It was great having Schellie with me and William with my husband while we were getting ready for the big day. We were lucky to have found them! They were amazing to work with, and they captured a ton of great moments. If we ever need photographers in the future, we are definitely going to be using them again. Anyone who hires them will never regret that decision.” – Pam

“My wife and I used William and Schellie for our wedding in April and could not be more pleased with the results. They were with us most of the day and were super-cool to hang out with. They were really friendly, and, after a while, we felt ultra comfortable (like they weren’t even there). Definitely recommend.” – Gabe

Squid Wed:

“When we were initially planning our wedding, we were not sure if we wanted a videographer, but after talking with Schellie about the Far Out Galaxy Package, we decided to try it out. We worked with Steven and couldn’t be happier! He worked with a second videographer for the ceremony and manned the rest of the wedding on his own. The quality of work that they did far exceeded our expectations. It is definitely one of the best decisions we made for our special day!” – Pam

“My wife and I used Steven for our wedding in April and could not be more pleased with the results. Steven and his assistant put together an amazing video (in addition to three other videos) that perfectly summarizes our big day. He was friendly, on time, and captured our wedding better than we could have imagined. The entire far out galaxy crew is certainly worth the cost.” – Gabe

Robot Booth:

“RobotBooth is by far the best photo booth company we have ever used! We had been to a handful of weddings before our own and used so many different booths, but after my cousin’s wedding, we knew that RobotBooth was the best choice. They give you so many options for backgrounds and props, and the music video and guestbook are great takeaways. You cannot go wrong with them!” – Pam

“Easy to book. Easy to customize. Easy to work with. All around a great experience. Stop reading reviews and book the RobotBooth, you won’t regret it.” – Gabe

DJ Cuttlefish:

“Day was great. We wanted the music to flow with the emotions throughout our wedding day, and Day definitely delivered. He was really accommodating with our playlist and requests. He was super professional and did not require any handholding or censoring. Class act through and through.” – Pam and Gabe

Now more than ever, wedding throwers are asking their guests to put their cell phones and cameras down during the ceremony to enjoy the moment instead. It’s called an Unplugged Wedding and the popularity won’t be dying down anytime soon.

There’s nothing wrong with opting to allow your guest to take photos during your ceremony – we kinda think it makes ya look like a celebrity with paparazzi in your pro photog’s photos, you get photos from your guests perspective, it’s a wonderful hakuna matata way of life, and more. (but the pros of letting your guests use devices during your ceremony is a different conversation for a different person) Do yo thang, superstar.

But, if you’re one of those peeps that just isn’t having it with devices during your ceremony and are wondering simple ways to let your guests know you’re having an unplugged wedding, here are 4 places and ways to let them know how important this is to you, along with a few tips.

1. In Your Welcome Bags

2. Place a Sign at the The Ceremony Location Entrance

3. Put it in the Ceremony Program

4. Have Your Officiant Announce a Reminder Right Before the Ceremony

Tip: Our advice is to do all 4 of these things. You may think all 4 is overkill – but you don’t get whatcha want unless you’re forward about it.

Tip: Go beyond saying “unplugged” when stating your desires. Not all of your guests will even know what that means!

Tip: Don’t just write it! Use graphics! A cell phone or camera in a crossed out circle is clear to those who don’t speak your language (for multicultural weddings) and even to those little ones who can’t read but know how to use a smartphone.

Tip: Make sure you let your guests know they can use their phones during your reception! You don’t want them forgetting about your wedding hashtag.

Tip: Don’t stress it! What’s a few more photos going to hurt? 😉

Until next time!

XOXO

lawn-games

Lawn games are totally trending for weddings and events and we don’t think they’re going anywhere anytime soon. Searching for suggestions? Here are 13 from us!

  • Giant Jenga
  • Cornhole
  • Big Scrabble
  • Lifesize Checkers
  • Lifesize Chess
  • Ring toss
  • Giant Tic Tac Toe
  • Croquet
  • Wooden Bowling
  • Bocce Ball
  • Twister (painted on the grass or a custom made blanket)
  • Balloon Dart Board
  • Giant Pick Up Sticks

Notice that “Giant” is a trend? Lawn game aint a lawn game ‘less it’s lifesize.

Until next time!

XOXO

MY REVIEW:

As a Wedding Photographer, I am always on the adventure of a lifetime – spending days with clients that let me into the most intimate moments of their life and trust me to artistically document their love. I work closely with Planners to keep the day on their schedule and time is very important to me. It’s the only thing I have anxiety (the healthy kind) about and I am constantly telling (and proving to) everyone that I’d rather be an hour early than three minutes late anywhere. (Seriously, everywhere I go, I get there absurdly early and then explore the area or sit in our vehicle nearby and work)

Just because I’m a nerd about time doesn’t mean I’m not a cool kid when it comes to fashion or adventure. This has had me on a constant search for a stylish, modern, unique, and adventure ready (cause weddings are the ultimate adventures) time telling accessory that doesn’t cramp my wedding style (cause we all know how many lame watches are out there) and I’m declaring my search complete.

Jord, a Designer company, sent me one of their unique wooden timepieces and I’m gonna go ahead and say that it’s the ultimate luxury hipster accessory to match what I like to call my high maintenance eclectic boho style. I’ve put down some of my favorite things about my experience with my watch and have a contest link for you to win your very own Wood Watch by Jord (yay!).

Most watches haven’t been able to accommodate my unique closet – they are all so basic or traditional, but Jord Wood Watches really nailed my style. Designed with quality in mind, my watch has been conditioned with natural (ooh, hippie buzz word!) Tung oil which prevents cracking and also allows the beautiful natural (again!) colors of the wood it was crafted with to shine through. I got the Zebrawood & Maple from the Fieldcest Series. The two woods together create a nice mix of light and darkness, giving it a sophisticated versatility that simplifies putting together my outfits – it’s matched every single wedding outfit I’ve put on this week. (this also means it works for all of the seasons color palettes – bright or dark! yay!)

Since most of my job is holding a camera in front of peoples faces, there’s a lot of attention drawn to my hands. I don’t get my nails done but a few times a year (like I said, eclectic hippie type) so having a Jord watch there has boosted my confidence because now I know my clients are checking out my watch – I’ve even had a few compliments!

While I’ve been talking a lot about wearing this to weddings, it’s not like (most) people get married on a Tuesday so I’ve gotta dress down sometimes (But do I? Do I really?) and it easily works for both looks. The texture of the wood itself really spices and dresses up a simple tee so it works for my everyday life even when I’m on the go for casual consultations (or wild networking events) instead of fancy weddings.

TIPS:

TIP: Decide how you want your watch to fit. Do you want it to fit snug so it doesn’t move up and down your wrist or do you want it loose so it feels more like a bracelet?

TIP: Have someone else measure your wrist for good measure (hahahahha, we so punny)
